Free-floating surface plants derive their nutrient needs directly from the water. They are not attached to the bottom. Common types are Duckweed, Watermeal (Wolffia), Star Duckweed and Water Hyacinth. These plants reproduce throughout the growing season. Whole pond treatment is recommended for thorough and longer-term control. Free-floating plants can quickly cover an entire pond.
There are several great product choices for the control of Duckweed - Visit the Q & A section on the Duckweed page to match your best solution.
