Description

FLUMIGARD® SC HERBICIDE

* #1 seller for Watermeal / Wolffia & Duckweed

A fast-acting, broad-spectrum liquid herbicide used for controlling weeds and filamentous algae in both aquatic (lakes, ponds, reservoirs) and terrestrial environments (non-crop areas, landscapes, forestry sites). It is powered by the active ingredient Flumioxazin.

Product Information & Features

Flumigard SC works by inhibiting protoporphyrinogen oxidase (Protox), an enzyme essential for chlorophyll synthesis in plants. It provides both pre-emergence and post-emergence control of young weed species.

  • Active Ingredient: Flumioxazin (4 lbs/gallon).
  • Application: Can be applied via surface and subsurface applications in water. Moisture is necessary to activate the pre-emergent residual in soil.
  • Compatibility: It is tank-mix compatible with a wide range of other active ingredients, including glyphosate.
  • Safety: When used according to label directions, it is considered safe for fish and other aquatic organisms with no swimming or fishing restrictions after application.

Application Details & Tips

  • Mixing: Mix with an aquatic-approved surfactant (e.g., Cide-Kick II) for better coverage.
  • Coverage: Ensure uniform application, especially on the surface.
  • Timing: Apply early in the morning on a sunny, calm day.
  • Safety Restriction: To prevent oxygen depletion and fish suffocation, treat only 1/3 to 1/2 of the water body at one time, waiting 10-14 days between treatments.

Always consult the specific product label for precise application rates based on target weeds and site conditions.
